The course of my life has travelled through the visual arts and music since days as a student in Syracuse University’s Visual and Performing Arts School. I have been employed as an art director in several Central New York advertising agencies, and most recently as a Senior Design Director at Chase Design in Skaneateles. Two of my great passions are painting oils and music. I've been painting for over 30 years, and several paintings have been commissioned locally and in other U.S cities. As a worship leader at Trinity Fellowship in Syracuse, New York, we sing a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary songs, and I have had opportunity to share some of my original songs, and have now recorded several under this site's music section. I live in Syracuse with my wife Nancy of 41 years, and we have five wonderful children living in Syracuse, Providence and the Boston area, and (currently) 6 dear grandchildren.
PAINTING: My preferred medium is oil, and I paint primarily from a warm, vibrant color palette. Rarely using physical props or photo references; part of my discipline is the fixation a picture in my imagination before putting brush to canvas. Broad brush strokes and use of color make me less concerned with literal representation. Rather, I am more interested in capturing the passion, essence or emotion and meaning behind a visual. The subject matter of my work is inspired by what I can only best describe as coming from my own Christian world view. It is with that foundation – whether painting rich and textured floral scenes, capturing snapshots of life, showcasing man’s present plight for completion and meaning, or making commentary on the persecuted church in our day, my work reflects the redemptive, and points to a final culmination where the undesirable and broken can be made whole. MUSIC: I love writing music that deals with themes of joy, redemption... and our collective responses to it. These recordings are produced from home on my much-loved iMac. All vocal and instruments are played by me, except canned drum loops, or an occasion dog bark in the background. It is my hope that you may find some measure of encouragement as you listen, and that it draws you in some way into the grand plan of God's redemption. All glory belongs to Him. We bring nothing to the table, save for adoration. COME VISIT US AT TRINITY FELLOWSHIP! We are a small, 4C's congregation in Central New York with plenty of families, mid-week prayer groups in homes, small group support, Bible study and systematic preaching through the Scriptures.
